“I LOVED this hotel, the staff made me feel so comfortable, everyone was super sweet! It's also close to all good restaurants , a gorgeous park , and shopping! I love historic places! One can see from the photos it's vintage and charming inside, i think only weird vacuous Karens review it badly - what did they expect, something else 🤔 ? The photos are obviously accurate. The happy hour was super fun ! I had such an amazing time here!”

“My husband and I travel to Charleston often and we have stayed in various hotels in the historic district and this one was the absolute worst hotel we have ever set foot in. Where to start... the first room they gave us was listed as having a "view of the park," but we weren't able to see it because the only small window in the room was so high up at the ceiling that we couldn't see out of it or even reach it. Upon asking for a room with more natural light, we were given a room on the first floor, and just like the previous room, it had not been updated since the 1980s. I know this because my parents stayed here in the 80s and found a picture of their hotel room with the SAME FURNITURE AND CARPET. Speaking of the carpet, it was so dirty we couldn't walk on it because it turned our feet (socks) black. And our bathroom had a lot of hair in it that didn't belong to either myself or my husband. There was so much visible dust on the walls and dirt it was just disgusting. All of our clothes, including 2 new dresses that I purchased while in Charleston STINK and we now need to get them dry cleaned - and I haven't even worn them yet. We had prepaid so we had no option of finding another hotel. All of this for $400 a night? Yes. We paid $400 per night to stay in the worst hotel in town. I understand that it is a "historic building" but there are plenty of other historic hotels that have been upgraded. As a Hilton Hotel, it does NOT fit any of the quality and cleanliness standards of this brand and I would stay as far away from this hell hole as possible.”
