“We booked an ocean front suite prior to leaving for our cruise and after having high hopes for this property it was an overall disappointment. I love the W brand and is my brand of choice amongst Marriott properties but this is a dated property that does not wow you in any way.
We couldn’t check in until 4pm which is fine but with my Ambassador status and out of the 160 nights I’ve stayed this year with Marriott not once have I had this happen. We asked for a late checkout (which is guaranteed with Ambassador status) and they were definitely not friendly about it even though we only needed it for 1pm.
There is a $45 resort fee… for what?! I didn’t realize that when booking and I have no problem with resort fees if you’re actually getting something from it.
The property desperately needs a facelift and you will notice that immediately upon entering your room if you’re familiar with the W brand.
I received two fraudulent charges from the spa on my bill which I am still working out with the hotel.
Lastly, they had a guy pressure washing the pool deck at 7am on a Sunday. All of the suites directly face the pool which faces the ocean. Awesome waking up to that. Have some common sense there guys, 7am on a Sunday??
So yea, this W is probably the worst of any I’ve stayed in. If you can snag a room here for under $200 a night it would be worth it but I would never in a million years pay anything more.”

“We just wanted to give a huge shout out to THE most helpful, pleasant and welcoming team member we have encountered at any hotel. The team member we want to recognize is Gloria. She welcomed us to the W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale and was efficient and all around a pleasure. Our room was not ready when we arrived and Gloria guided us as to what was available, set us up with recommendations, plans and activities to take advantage of while we waited.
We were grateful to have such a wonderful team member set us up to start our vacation off on the right foot.
