“The hotel is pretty nice, and has a historic look to it. That said the historic vibe also translates into an old style hotel. The rooms are fairly dark, and the view from my room was the side of a building. If I hadn't been in Chicago for a conference I probably would've chosen a more conveniently located hotel. Since this property is on the edge of downtown it's convenient to Millennium Park, but expect to walk a lot to get anywhere else.
If it weren't for the fact that they charge to store luggage on departure I would've given four stars. When I emailed about this fee the management said, "We offer complimentary luggage storage for arrival, however for departures we have opted for paid service for the security and proper management of the guest's luggage due to the volume and size of the property." So they'll store for free before they've got your money for the room, but not after. How does charging a cash only fee improve security? Sounds like a side hustle to me.”

“We had a wonderful stay for the NYE gala event they had. It was great. Everything was clean, the staff were all helpful and super friendly, and the rooms were very nice. Our only complaint was that the heat in our room wouldn't work properly. Someone fixed it once, but then it broke again the next day.The event was super fun. Lots of rooms with music, food, dancing, gambling. At midnight a confetti cannon went off which was fun. We tried to go outside and watch fireworks, but you can't see them at all. That was our fault though, because we never asked.Lots of fun things to do within walking distance, but also a lot to do within the hotel itself.Overall a great stay. Can't wait to return!”
